Gaborone, Nov 13 (IANS): President Droupadi Murmu of India and Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko witnessed the release of eight cheetahs from Botswana’s Ghanzi region into a quarantine facility at the Mokolodi Nature Reserve.

This event marked a significant step in the India-Botswana wildlife conservation partnership under Project Cheetah.

During the visit, the leaders discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in various sectors including trade, agriculture, and health, and signed an agreement to improve access to affordable Indian medicines for Botswana’s citizens.

President Boko praised India as a “mother of democracy” for its support in Botswana’s development.
