ASHEVILLE, N.C. —
Asheville Police Department officers say they arrested a wanted man on drug trafficking and gun charges in west Asheville on Wednesday afternoon.
While on patrol in the Deaverview Road area around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers found Tequan Altorez Vance, who they say was wanted on an open warrant for felony cruelty to animals.

During the arrest, Vance was found to be in possession of a trafficking amount of cocaine and a handgun. He was taken into custody without incident. Police said they seized 5.56 grams of crack cocaine, 27.04 grams of powder cocaine and a 9-mm handgun.
Vance faces several charges and was served the outstanding warrant.
Vance was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility.
