A pregnant woman who died at home following a medical emergency has been pictured for the first time. Kalaivani Balakrishnan was described as "kind-hearted" by her grieving family in a heartbreaking tribute.

Emergency services rushed to a house on Highsted Road in Kirkby shortly before 11am on Tuesday (November 11), following reports of an urgent medical incident.

Merseyside Police said officers were called to the scene by the North West Ambulance Service after a woman in her 40s required immediate medical attention.

Officers attended the semi-detached house to support paramedics, but despite their best efforts, Kalaivani, aged 41, died at the scene, the ECHO reports.
