WAVELAND, Miss. (WLOX) - Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced the sentencing of Colby Isaiah Johnson of Waveland for one count of possession of child exploitation material.
On November 6, Hancock County Circuit Court Judge Christopher L. Schmidt sentenced Johnson to serve 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
The investigation into Johnson began after a cyber tip was received. Officials then found over 1,000 images and videos of child sexual abuse material on his devices.
“Our incredible team of investigators and prosecutors is committed to holding individuals who exploit children accountable for their crimes,” said Fitch.
Johnson is to serve his sentence day-for-day without the possibility of parole.
