Provincial dollars for what will be Canada’s largest pickleball facility in Spruce Grove and community rink upgrades in Edmonton are among two projects being funded in this round of Alberta’s sports and recreation grant.
Tourism and Sport Minister Andrew Boitchenko announced Thursday the province invested $7 million into its Active Communities Initiative (ACI) funding in 2025, which provides grants to organizations across the province to build or upgrade sport and recreational spaces.
“We are committed to strengthening sport and recreation opportunities in every corner of our province, and with this year’s $7 million investment, we are building healthier and more active communities in Alberta,” Boitchenko said.
