CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A new beer partnership between Xavier University athletics and Cincinnati Beverage Company is creating a business boom for a local bar that serves the university community.
Cappy’s owner, Drew Schulte, said the Muskie Lager has accounted for nearly 30% of his sales since he started selling it in late October.
The beer supports Xavier’s All for One Fund, which provides scholarships and support for student athletes.
“Xavier’s our neighbor, we support our neighbors, we love the program, so it just feels good to be a part of that,” Schulte said.
About 25% of Cappy’s customer base are Xavier students, which Schulte said has been a large factor in the beer’s popularity.
