HOLLYWOOD – The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision Thursday in Hollywood that left a woman trapped inside a vehicle.

Officers from the department’s Hollywood Division were called to the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Wilton Place at 12:32 a.m. regarding a report of a vehicle crash, according to an LAPD.

According to the LAPD, the victim was traveling north on Wilton when the second driver, a woman driving a Range Rover east on Sunset, slammed into the victim’s white Mazda sedan.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were called and attempted to free the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Video from the scene showed debris strew on both sides of Sunset.
