An Egg Harbor Township man accused of being part of an extremist network was charged with cyberstalking offenses and telling a young girl to cut herself, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Friday.

Marek Cherkaoui, 21, was arrested at his home Friday and accused of being a member of the Nihilistic Violent Extremist network 764, officials said.

Nihilistic Violent Extremist networks are misanthropic organizations that want to destroy society through violence, investigators wrote in charging documents.

The 764 network, specifically, aims to destabilize the U.S. by creating chaos and undermining civil institutions, investigators wrote in charging documents.

From December 2024 through May 2025, authorities said Cherkaoui threatened a young girl online and told her to cut herself.
