Rishabh Pant entered his name in the history books on Saturday (November 15) by breaking the record of hitting the most sixes in Test cricket for India. Pant, who is playing his 48th Test for India these days in Kolkata against South Africa, needed one six to go past Virender Sehwag’s tally of 90 sixes for India in Tests, and he achieved the objective during the morning session of the second day’s play at Eden Gardens.
Pant, who is the vice-captain of India’s Test team, faced 24 balls in the first innings and, with the help of two fours and two sixes, scored 27 runs.
The two maximums on Saturday took his tally of sixes to 92 in Test cricket now, which is two more than Sehwag’s record of 90 sixes.
