A frustrated vegan was left seething after biting into an Aldi 'no sausage and bean' pasty only to discover it was completely hollow. Sophie Calderwood was gobsmacked when she settled down for lunch last month and realised her No Sausage and Bean meal was devoid of any filling whatsoever.

The 26 year old had picked up the frozen bakes from Aldi in Livingstone, West Lothian, the previous day, but was left feeling 'annoyed' by the absence of veggie sausage and beans. After polishing off one of the crispy pastries hoping the filling might be hiding somewhere inside, Sophie decided to pop the other one in the air fryer.
