A prolific thief faces being sent to prison if he touches a car.

Police have asked the public to alert them if they see Graeme McLardy interfering with any vehicle without permission.

The move comes after the 43-year-old's spree of shoplifting and thefts from vehicles. He has now been slapped with an order in a bird to curb his criminality.

McLardy was handed the two-year Criminal Behaviour Order which came into force on November 12 following incidents of shoplifting and vehicle interference. He is also banned from three stores.

McLardy must not enter any premises from which he has been notified he has been barred or excluded.
