BALLARI: In an embarrassing case for the district and state BJP, the party’s district vice-president, G T Pampapathi, allegedly demanded Rs 40 lakh from a mining transporter, Chandru, who is also a BJP leader. An audio conversation of the two has now gone viral.
Pampapathi, a known history-sheeter, reportedly threatened Chandru, saying he would file a complaint with the Lokayukta and damage his reputation if he didn’t pay up. The demand was made in exchange for allowing Chandru’s company to transport iron ore from Ballari to Goa.
The accused, Pampapathi, had allegedly threatened Chandru, saying, “We will file a complaint with the Lokayukta and tarnish your image.” The demand for Rs 40 lakh was made to allow Chandru’s company to transport iron ore without any hindrance.
