An updated severe thunderstorm warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Saturday at 8:21 p.m. in effect until 9 p.m. for Clarion and Venango counties.

Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

"At 8:21 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles south of Franklin, moving east at 45 mph," explains the weather service. "Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees."

Locations impacted by the warning include Clarion, Knox, Sligo, Emlenton, Strattanville, Limestone, Shippenville, St. Petersburg, Kennerdell, Callensburg and Foxburg.

The weather service comments, "Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds."
