Shore has entered some exclusive company.
The Blue Devils, No. 8 in the NJ.com Top 20, secured its 20th state championship to join Eastern and West Essex as the only three in state history to hit that mark.
Shore took down No. 9 Madison, 2-0, to earn the NJSIAA Group 1 title on Saturday.
Here are the three stars of the game.
First Star: Finley Elias, Shore
Elias may only be a sophomore, but she already has quite a decorated resume. Her goal with 1:01 left in the first quarter stood as the game-winner. This comes three days after scoring the sectional title-clinching goal and almost a year after burying the Group 1 championship-clinching shootout goal.
Second Star: Emma Haynes, Shore
Haynes didn’t show up on the scoresheet with a point, but her stellar play in the middle of the field
