In a major escalation of its probe into the Red Fort car bomb blast, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Kashmiri man who played a crucial role in helping suicide bomber Dr Umar Un Nabi execute the attack that killed 10 people and injured 32 in Delhi earlier this month.
The accused, Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora in Pampore, was arrested from Delhi. Investigators found that the car used in the blast was registered in Amir’s name, and he had travelled to the capital to assist Umar in securing the vehicle that was later turned into a vehicle-borne IED (VBIED).
According to the NIA, Amir had actively conspired with Umar Un Nabi, an Assistant Professor of General Medicine at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, to carry out the deadly attack near the Red Fort on Nove
