If owner Jimmy Bennett has his way, the Oar House Pub in Sea Isle City will be sold to another family who will embrace the community.
“The Oar House Pub is like the television show ‘Cheers,’” said Bennett, who has listed the Oar House for sale after more than 20 years of ownership. “We really get to know our clientele, and their children and grandchildren have worked here.”
The Oar House, a staple of the Jersey Shore’s dining and entertainment scene for more than five decades, closed for good earlier this year.
It is up for sale, complete with the restaurant’s iconic lobster emblem.
The asking price for the pub and restaurant is $6,999,999, according to a listing by Long & Foster .
