LOMIRA, Wis. -- Burn injuries sent a 16-year-old teen to the hospital in the Town of Lomira on Saturday.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said shortly before 9 p.m. a 911 caller reported there had been a fire at an apartment building on Park Lane.
Deputies responded and an initial investigation showed a small fire started as the teen was using a lighter to melt plastic keys to a keyboard to repair it, and a nearby bottle of isopropyl alcohol ignited. The fire extinguished prior to fire department arrival, with very minimal damage inside the apartment.
The teen was flown by medical helicopter to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee, with suspected serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and remains hospitalized.
