CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Police are investigating after two people were shot Sunday morning in west Charlotte.

According to MEDIC, the shooting happened around 1:45 a.m. on South Summit Avenue near the Superstarz Club. WBTV is told plenty of people left the area after gunshots rang out.

Just after the shooting, MEDIC said one person was hurt in a crash about a block away on South Church Street, just outside of uptown Charlotte.

WBTV is working to learn what led up to the shooting and if it is connected to the crash.
