SHERBROOKE — Parti Québécois Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon has warned his membership that the closer Quebec moves to the next election and a possible sovereignty referendum, the rougher the sailing will be for the party.
But urging discipline and rigour in its policy-making, St-Pierre Plamondon said the PQ must not get distracted from its goals. He said his job will be to answer any and all accusations, including those from a federalist option he believes is running short of arguments.
“Under my leadership, we will never let ourselves be slandered; we will never let falsehoods become alternative truths in the public space,” St-Pierre Plamondon said Sunday in a speech wrapping up a two-day PQ national council.
