In the early hours of Sunday morning Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene to aid with the rescue, operating their crane and turntable ladder to save the man
Firefighters were called to a city centre incident at 2am last night following reports a man had fallen into a river.
The incident was reported at around 2am on Saturday November 18 in Manchester on Charles Street, which is bisected by the River Medlock and close to a number of nightlife hotspots including Factory 251, Joshua Brooks, YES and the Lass O'Gowrie pub.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service took to their Facebook page to share a number of photos of the dramatic rescue operation from the scene. In attendance were several fire engines operating their crane and turntable ladder.
