Restrictions were placed on flights at 40 airports across the country, including at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, during the government shutdown. Advertisement
It's welcome news for travelers ahead of the Thanksgiving rush. As of 6 a.m., when the agency said airlines can resume their regular flight schedules, CVG's flight board is clear , and travelers are moving through TSA with ease.
Flight restrictions were put in place by the FAA as more and more air traffic controllers called out. Those restrictions led to the cancellation of up to 6% of flights every day at airports like CVG.
The agency said its focus was on making sure it was safe to fly.
