A 23-year-old man was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries after the Toyota Corolla he was driving crossed the center line on Route 131 in Sturbridge and collided with a U-Haul, according to police.
First responders went to 142 Main St. in Sturbridge, which is Route 131, around 9:30 p.m. on Friday. At the scene, officers found a man with serious, life-threatening injuries, Police Chief Earl J. Dessert said in a statement posted to Facebook .
An officer “quickly and efficiently applied a tourniquet to the driver’s injured arm, which undoubtedly contributed to saving his life,” Dessert said.
Officials called Life Flight to the scene, which sent a ground team due to weather conditions. The man was taken to Harrington Hospital by Sturbridge emergency medical services before
