Police are seeking public help to identify a man wanted in the shooting of New York Jets cornerback and special teams standout Kris Boyd.
New York police released surveillance images of a man sought in the shooting, which happened outside a business on West 38th Street near Seventh Avenue just after 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Boyd remained in critical but stable condition on Monday, according to ESPN.
A motive for the shooting remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported. According to the New York Post , the shooter fired two shots after getting into a dispute with the 29-year-old Boyd.
The Jets, who lost to the Patriots on Thursday Night Football, said they are “aware of the situation involving Kris Boyd” but have declined further comment.
