ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WIS) - Officials in Orangeburg have announced an arrest after shots were fired inside a grocery store last week.

The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety said 21-year-old Tajari Laseyon-Devario Riley was charged with breach of peace of a high and aggravated nature. Riley’s charge is linked to a report of shots fired from the Food Lion on Chestnut Street just after noon on Friday.

The department said the shooting was the result of “some type of altercation” inside the store and that the victim was reportedly walking away when they were shot at.

Orangeburg Director of Public Safety Charles Austin said the lone bullet fired in the store was later found lodged in the ceiling, but no injuries were reported. He added that there was no barricade situation or reported hostag
