LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Authorities have identified the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle in northeast Lincoln as 61-year-old Kristine Hess, of Omaha.

Lincoln Police said Hess was hit by a flatbed tow truck at the intersection of North 48th Street and Saint Paul Avenue Saturday morning.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue and police responded to the collision at 10:44 a.m. Officers found a passersby rendering aid to Hess. She later died from her injuries.

Police said the driver of the tow truck was cooperating with the investigation after the collision. It’s unclear if the driver has been, or will be, cited in the fatal collision.
