JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) — A Richmond man is facing multiple felony charges after deputies say he impersonated a police officer, kidnapped a woman, sexually abused her, and drove impaired before being arrested outside a Shell gas station in McKee.
According to an arrest citation, 25-year-old Mark Lawrence Bernardo II, of Richmond, was taken into custody on November 15 after deputies responded to the gas station for a woman in distress who appeared to be involved in a possible domestic incident.
When the officer arrived, Bernardo was sitting in a vehicle at the pumps and immediately claimed he was a Richmond Police officer, according to the report. Deputies say Bernardo was acting erratically, so he was detained while the victim was interviewed.
