NEWPORT, Ky. (WXIX) - People are being asked to avoid an area in Newport due to a fire.

The Newport Fire Department said around 2 p.m. that crews are on scene of a fire on West 13th Street.

Video from the area shows large smoke plumes coming from the fire.

Newport’s fire chief said no injuries have been reported.

The fire department is asking people to avoid the area.
