Emergency services were called to Margate Parade in Margate, north of Brisbane, after reports of a traffic crash about 11.27pm on Monday.
Police said the vehicle, believed to be a white ute, struck a teenage pedestrian before fleeing the scene following the crash.
Upon arrival, authorities treated the girl for life-threatening injuries and rendered CPR.
The girl, however, did not survive her injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The Queensland Forensic Crash Unit is currently investigating the collision.
Police are appealing to anyone with relevant CCTV dashcam or footage of the area, including Mabel Street and Margate Parade, to come forward and get in touch.
