YORK, Neb. (KOLN) - The man accused in a York Walmart arson investigation was identified Monday.
William Regan Young Eckman, 20, was arrested Sunday after admitting he set merchandise on fire inside the Walmart at 101 W. David Drive at about 11:26 a.m., according to police.
The preliminary investigation showed Eckman entered the store intending to start a fire. He used items inside the store to ignite merchandise before leaving the area, police said.
Officers arrested Eckman shortly afterward and booked him into York County Corrections.
Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity, interacted with Eckman or has information relevant to the investigation is urged to contact the police department and provide a voluntary statement.
The store remains closed while investigators process
