One person was arrested after police said he was the “aggressor” in an altercation outside a Walmart in Newington where a fight led to a gunshot being fired.
Officers responded to the store at 3164 Berlin Turnpike on Sunday on the report of a physical altercation in the parking lot, according to the Newington Police Department . While officers were en route, they learned that one person who was involved had a firearm and someone had suffered an injury, police said.
Investigators found that 26-year-old Rashawn Harris of Westminster, Maryland, allegedly approached a vehicle as the driver was trying to back into a parking space and confronted the driver, police said. The driver then got out before two allegedly started arguing, which boiled over into a physical fight, according to police.
