Minnesota is getting a professional women's volleyball team in 2027.
League One Volleyball (LOVB) announced late last week that it's establishing a Minnesota franchise, though few details were shared, including where the team will play and who will be on its roster.
“Minnesota is one of the great homes of volleyball, with a passionate fan base and an incredible depth of talent across the state,” LOVB President Rosie Spaulding said in a statement. “Bringing a professional team here is about celebrating that passion and building a clear, tangible path for the next generation.”
LOVB says Minnesota ranks No. 4 nationally in girls high school volleyball participation, with state championships regularly drawing sellout crowds.
LOVB launched in early 2025 with six franchises: Omaha, Neb.; Mad
