Three homes were damaged by a five-alarm fire that swept through a Roselle neighborhood Monday evening.
Flames could be seen shooting through the roof of one of the houses on East 9th Avenue around 6:30 p.m. as firefighters from local companies worked to contain the blaze.
It was unclear if anybody was injured in the fire, and no immediate word on what sparked the blaze.
Volunteers with the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team are assisting 38 people from eight families affected by the fire in, according to a spokeswoman from the organization.
The families will receive Red Cross emergency assistance to help with things like temporary lodging, food, clothing, and other immediate needs.
Residents affected by the incident were being relocated with the support of the American Red Cross
