A butcherman from Golomoti in has been arrested on suspicion of stealing goats after he was allegedly found selling the stolen animals at Pengapenga Market.
According to Prince Harvey Ganiza, the suspect identified as Jiya was caught when one of the people who had reported missing goats spotted him trading the livestock.
Police from Golomoti later searched the suspect’s home, where they recovered more goats. Some of the animals were identified by their rightful owners.
Jiya is currently being held at Mtakataka Police Station as investigations continue.
He hails from Wilson Village under Traditional Authority Kachindamoto in Golomoti.
