More Iowa Department of Transportation construction will send drivers trying to navigate Des Moines' interstates on detours in the days ahead.

Upcoming overnight road work will shut down portions of Interstate 80/35 in the western suburbs, as well as Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 65 in the eastern suburbs.

The southbound lanes of I-80/35 between Iowa Highway 141 and the southwest mixmaster will be closed to traffic starting at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19, and continuing until 4 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20.
