Basketball season is heating up in Ann Arbor.

While Michigan football remains a viable contender in the Big Ten and nationally, the men’s and women’s basketball teams are both off to a 3-0 start amid some fireworks.

On the latest episode of MLive’s Wolverine Confidential podcast, basketball beat writer Andrew Kahn recaps both team’s recent outings:

The men, after blowing out Oakland to open the season, had to scrape by last week to beat Wake Forest and TCU.

“A somewhat clunky, ugly game,” Kahn said of Friday’s 67-63 victory in Fort Worth. “Kind of like Wake Forest, except without as many free throws, so not as many points. But Michigan found a rhythm there late in time to win.”

Meanwhile, the women scored their biggest win of the young season, beating No. 18 Notre Dame by 39 points on
