Stargazers around the world are gearing up for a dazzling celestial show, as the Leonid meteor shower is expected to reach its peak in mid-November.
The shower is expected to reach its maximum intensity on November 18.
The Leonids became visible on November 3 and are at their most active now. It will remain visible until December 2. During peak hours, observers may get to see 10 to 15 meteors per hour under a dark, clear sky.
When and where to watch?
The peak time to watch Leonids is between midnight and pre-dawn hours on Nov 16, 17 and 18, when the meteor rate is expected to be highest. The radiant point (the point from which meteors appear to originate) lies in the constellation Leo.
