A huge emergency service presence responded to a fire at an Edinburgh flat complex, which left one injured.

The incident took place around 1.45pm on Tuesday, November 18 at Restalrig House.

Video footage shows smoke billowing from the windows of an upper-floor flat. Images from the scene show fire engines and police vehicles lining the street.

One individual was injured and was transferred to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service, according to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Seven appliances were dispatched as part of a massive rescue effort.

A resident of the building told Edinburgh Live: "I'm on the opposite side of the building. I heard shouting and saw a man in a wheelchair being taken to the police van at the top of the street by around six police."
