LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Those familiar bells you hear outside the grocery store during the holiday season are back. They’re part of the Red Kettle Campaign, one of The Salvation Army’s largest efforts to raise money to fight hunger and homelessness in across the nation and in Louisville.

Those donations help support the organizations programs and services including funding for food pantries and emergency shelters.

In Louisville, officials are aiming to raise $1.2 million this holiday season from kettles set up at 67 Kroger and Walmart locations. Donations go right back into the community.
