MADISON, Ohio – Pop-up Christmas bars are opening at two area wineries this week. Grand River Cellars in Madison is launching an immersive “Grinchmas” theme. Meanwhile Debonne Vineyards is presenting a softer “Rudolph’s Revenge.” Both open tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 19.

To build a Grinchmas theme at Grand River Cellars, owner Cindy Lindberg and her team spent 2.5 weeks papering the tasting room walls with Christmas wrap, ornamenting Christmas trees and dangling decorations from the ceiling. Behind one of the bars “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” loops on a TV screen.

The winery offers 14 Grinch-themed cocktails, adding four to last year’s menu. They also serve five mocktails and a Whobilation food menu. Grand River Cellars has a complete liquor license, so cocktails use both house win
