ANN ARBOR, MI — The mascot for the University of Michigan looks to be the inspiration for the name of a future living complex.
University of Michigan officials may name new student dormitories after the school’s mascot.
The UM Board of Regents will vote Thursday, Nov. 20, on a proposal to name its new student dormitories “Wolverine Village,” according to an action item .
The Student Life Naming Subcommittee produced and shared potential names with the Residential Halls Association, Residential Education and student residents. Evaluators agreed on the name Wolverine Village.
The Board of Regents must approve all new building names.
