An Edinburgh man has bravely spoken out after surviving a horrific 'stabbing' near a city McDonald's which left him soaked in blood and 'fearing for his life'.

Cory Evans spoke to Edinburgh Live about the harrowing ordeal that took place around 8.40am on Sunday, November 16.

The 28-year-old moved to the capital from Skegness just three weeks prior for a fresh start after his mum tragically passed away in July.

A dad of three young boys aged 4, 6, and 10 - as well as a young girl who passed away in 2014 - Cory said he is "just thankful to be alive". He has now called for locals to prevent violence and not "ruin someone's life".
