NEEDHAM, Mass. —
The murder trial of Brian Walshe presents a "very difficult case" for prosecutors due to the absence of a body, according to former Suffolk County District Attorney Dan Conley.
The Cohasset father is accused of killing and dismembering Ana Walshe, 39, around New Year's Day in 2023. Prosecutors allege that Brian Walshe disposed of his wife's remains in dumpsters around the area.
Brian Walshe's trial began with jury selection Tuesday . Nine jurors were selected during the first day of work.
Before jury selection began, Brian Walshe changed his pleas on two lesser counts: willfully conveying a human body in violation of state law and misleading police. Prosecutors said that his interference led to the destruction of his wife's remains.
