HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - An upper-level low-pressure system is currently sitting to the south of the island chain, pulling up moisture from our south. This moisture is increasing the chance for rainfall over Maui and Hawaii Island through Tuesday. Some showers may be heavy at times.
The moisture being pulled up from the south will get tied up in the trade winds on Wednesday, increasing the chance for windward showers statewide. These showers will be mostly focused over windward areas, but could move to interior and leeward portions of each island due to how strong the trade winds will be.
