BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — One person is dead after a crash sent a car up in flames in Buckeye on Friday evening.

It happened around 5 p.m. at Thomas Road and Celebron Drive , which is west of Sun Valley Parkway, in the Tartesso neighborhood.

Details are limited but Buckeye firefighters confirmed one person died because of the fiery crash. “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones affected,” the fire department said in a social media post.

Buckeye fire crews posted a photo of them putting out the fire near two metal power line towers, with the metal frame of the car next to one of the towers.

Police haven’t said if the driver crashed into the tower or what led up to the crash.
