OSSIAN – The new kids in Class 4A have taken down the top team in Class 4A.
No. 9 Norwell’s aggressive defense held No. 1 Homestead to just 10 points in the fourth quarter at The Castle on Tuesday as the Knights beat the Spartans 59-46.
It is Norwell’s first win over Homestead since 2012.
“It feels so good. I mean, this is our goal for the season, to knock out Homestead,” said Norwell senior guard Addison Norris, referring to the fact that the Knights were promoted to Homestead’s Class 4A sectional after winning the Class 3A state title last year. “I think it was just being aggressive. (Coach Eric) Thornton always told us we need to have a chip on our back and we need to go out and play, and play, and play the hardest we’ve ever played. So we executed that.”
