A man has tragically been found dead after police responded to reports of a 'man in a canal' in Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said officers had been called to Bordesley Green East - which is close to the River Cole - at 1.20pm yesterday, Tuesday, November 18.

Police said the man was declared dead at the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance service spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: "We were called to an incident in an area off Bordesley Green East in Yardley , Birmingham at 1.48pm.

"We sent an ambulance and paramedic
