Colorado’s Mikaela Shiffrin, 30, the all-time victory leader on the FIS World Cup circuit, staged another slalom clinic on the slopes of Levi, Finland, Saturday, Nov. 15, and came away with her 102nd World Cup victory, and 65th in slalom. She claimed her ninth career win on the Levi course and won another reindeer for doing so, by Finnish race tradition.
She named the reindeer Winkie in honor of her mother’s childhood nickname.
In the first World Cup slalom of the 2025-26 Olympic season, Shiffrin blasted out to a 1.08-second lead after the first run and finished 1.66 seconds ahead of second-place Lara Colturi, 19, after two runs. American Paula Moltzan was fourth of 84 starters, 2.74 seconds back. After two World Cup races, Shiffrin has a 150-130 lead over Moltzan in the overall standing
