The Hailey Police Department announced Wednesday that it has issued an arrest warrant for Diego Sarao-Cruz, 21, for allegedly eluding police officers and failing to report an accident.

The department stated in a Wednesday post on Facebook that it had issued the warrant as a result of its investigation of a series of incidents the weekend of Nov. 8 during which a black 2005 Toyota Corolla eluded police multiple times and ultimately crashed into a Hailey home.

The department stated in a description of the weekend’s events that the vehicle refused to stop for a Bellevue Marshal’s Office deputy at 7:43 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, after a failure to display permanent or temporary license plates, “and a pursuit ensued.”
