CUYAHOGA COUNTY, Ohio — More Cuyahoga County homeowners who are struggling to keep up with their property taxes will be able to get some financial help as the Treasurer’s Office “has expanded the eligibility criteria for the Taxpayer Assistance Program.”
The program, which provides up to $10,000 to qualified taxpayers, was previously limited to county residents who are 70 and older.
With the program’s expansion, the required age for eligibility has now been lowered to 67.
Here’s how to qualify:
Maintain a primary residence in Cuyahoga County with an active certified tax delinquency
Be the primary or joint owner
Be aged 67 years or greater
Have a household income of less than $70,000 per year
Establish a delinquent tax payment contract for any remaining delinquency
