Seattle film production facility Harbor Island Studios found its funding on the Metropolitan King County Council’s budgetary chopping block this week — but the show will go on for at least a while longer.

The council voted unanimously Tuesday to waive six months of rent for the production facility and to provide an additional $30,000 in funding to supplement $90,000 currently earmarked in the budget for ongoing maintenance. The council also requested that a study be conducted to determine the economic benefits of Harbor Island — in addition to a fresh rent assessment.
